  Outdoor Rec: Color Me Rad 5K Registration
Description:
PER-REGISTRATION REQUIRED Outdoor Rec will be traveling to Chattanooga, TN for a "Color Me Rad 5K" on March 29th and March 30th. Registration ends March 1st. $20 pays for registration, lodging, and transportation. [12:10pm]Pro Art performance of A Thousand Cranes presented by the Barter Players
Description:
A Thousand Cranes, presented by the Barter Players February 27, 2013 - 12:15 p.m., Goodloe Center, Mountain Empire Community College, Big Stone Gap, VA Admission: FREE This is the true story of Sadako Sasaki who inspired the world with her bravery in the aftermath of the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan. Her quest to fold a thousand origami cranes in pursuit of a wish has caused millions of children from all over the world to fold cranes for peace. This beautiful play pulls from traditional forms of Japanese drama to celebrate Sadako’s hope and the hope of all the children who have worked to honor her. This program is funded in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Lecture Committee is pleased to present Amy Clark’s talk “Talking Appalachian: Pride and Prejudice and Mountain Speech” today at 1 pm in the Chapel of All Faiths. This is the third lecture in the Faculty Writing & Research Series in which members of the UVa-Wise faculty will be discussing their scholarship and publications. Description:
The SGA will host an interest meeting today at 1 pm in the SSC Leadership Wing (3rd floor) for the Miss UVa-Wise Scholarship Pageant. The pageant will be held on April 6 at 6 pm in the Prior Convocation Center. Winner will receive a $500 scholarship. No talent portion in this year's pageant.
