  Outdoor Rec: Color Me Rad 5K Registration
PER-REGISTRATION REQUIRED Outdoor Rec will be traveling to Chattanooga, TN for a "Color Me Rad 5K" on March 29th and March 30th. Registration ends March 1st. $20 pays for registration, lodging, and transportation. The Real World: Courbet, Whistler and the Manet presented by Jeffrey Allison, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, self portrait - Gustav Courbet February 21, 2013 - 7:00 p.m., Rhododendron Room - Slemp Center, The University of Virginia's College at Wise, Wise, VA Admission: FREE Gustav Courbet led the Realist Movement in 19th Century France, focusing on the everyday and the ordinary as he developed a unique painting style that influenced his student James McNeil Whistler and the proto-Impressionist, Eduard Manet. This lecture will explore the complex relationship between these three men as they challenged the status quo in art, politics and love. This program is funded in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
